Meeting held on 26th of February 2018 at Ministry of Trade & Commerce in order to provide facilities to the “Virusara” privilege card holders.

Litro Gas Company and the Global Humanism foundation have funded scholarship worth of Rs: 50,000/= for 22 children of the war heroes’ who are doing higher studies.

In Order to provide facilities for the War Heroes , Singer Sri Lanka Pvt Ltd Offered a course Of dress making ,worth of Rs 15000 to the “virusara” privilege card holders.

The 'Virusara' privilege card project being implemented on a concept of State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene under the theme ‘ Sudu Paraviyanta Multhena Denna” mainly aims to benefit around 300,000 war hero families.

In a bid to streamline future programmes of the welfare of war heroes, a meeting was held under the patronage of State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijayawardena at Defence Ministry auditorium on January 18th 2017.

In order to provide facilities to the “Virusara” Privilege card holders, Sri Lanka Transport Board has agreed to provide following transport facilities. Hence,

The programme which is being implemented , acconding to a concept of the State Minister of Defence , by Ranaviru Seva Authority, Tri Forces , Police and Civil Security Force , has made necessary arrangement to speed up the offering of benefits to its members.

Under the second phase of Virusara card distribution, benefits ware offered to, the war Heroes who enlisted to the tri-forces, Police and Civil Defence Force during the years of 1983 – 2009 and went on retire ment having completed 20 and 22 years of service and War Heroes who are on active Service.

As Per a concept of the State Minister of Defense and under the patronage of HE. The President a Specil War Hero Card has been introduced in a bid expand welfare benefits to the tri-forces, Place and Civil Defense Force war Heroes who made supreme sacrifice / were disabled for the preservation of the territorial integrity of the mother land , and their close relatives.

A Progress Review meeting of the 'Virusara' Privilege Card Project was held under the patronage of State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene at the Ministry today (14th December 2016).

Another phase of ‘Virusara’ card distribution was successfully held under the patronage of the State Minister of Defence, Hone Ruwan Wijewardana at the Commando Regiment Headquarters, Ganemulla on 09th December 2016.

The second phase of issuing Virusara Benefit cards for the family members of war heroes, fallen and serving for the country, will be held under the patronage of State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardena at Commando Regiment Ganemulla on December 09 2017.

The committee meeting of ‘Virusara’ privilege card project was held to review the progress under the auspicious of State Defence Ministry Secretary Eng Karunasena Hettiarachchi, senior officials of the ministry,Ranaviru Seva Authority, Tri forces police and Civil Defence Force at State Defence Ministry auditorium on October 14, 2016

With the intention of developing the Virusara privilege card project, the State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardena and State Defence Ministry Secretary Eng Karunasena Hettiarachchi calls up meeting to review the progress of the project.

A discussion was held under the patronage of Secretary Defence to discuss promotional matters of Virusara Privilege Card distribution.

The progress of the second phase of Virusara card distribution held in Hingurakgoda (on 27th June 2016) was reviewed at the Ministry of Defence on 08th July 2016.

The second phase of the distribution of Virusara Cards, implemented to look after the welfare of war heroes, will take off ground under the patronage of the president H.E. Maithripala Sirisena, at the Auditorium of the University of Rajarata on 27th June At 2.00 pm.

The prime aim of the distribution of Virusara Privilege Card is to offer benefits for tri – services, Police and Civil Security Department personnel who sacrificed their lives, went missing in action and became disabled during active service in the process of bringing a lasting Peace for the motherland.

Under the second phase of the distribution of virusara Privilege Card, Seven more programmes were held in Colombo, Anuradapura, Kurunegala, Rathnapura, Ambepussa, Panagoda & Hambanthota areas.

Apart from the existing benefits offered for the war heroes &their family members, the Ministry of Healthcare & Nutrition and Ministry of Transport & civil Aviation, have decided to offer a few more special facilities to its beneficiaries.

The tourth phase of granting ‘Virusara’ Privilege card was ceremonially held under the patronage of the State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardena at Gemunu Watch Regimental Headquarters in Kuruvita Rathnapura on 11th March 2016.

The second phase of granting ‘Virusara’ Privilege Card was ceremonially held under the patronage of the state Minister of Defence Hone Ruwan Wijewardana at Gajaba regimental headquarters in Saliyapura on 27th February 2016.

The second-phase of granting “Virusara Privilege Card” to war heroes and their family members, came about 30th April 2016 under the patronage of the State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane at the Magampura International Convention Centre. The ceremony saw a total of 1,002 beneficiaries including 642 from Army, 194 from Navy, 91 from Air Force, 67 from Police and 08 from Civil Security Department, receiving the “Virusara Privilege Cards”.

State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane distributed Virusara privilege cards among the Virusara beneficiaries of the western province in a ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry in Panagoda on 08th April 2016.

State Secretary of Defence Mr. APG Kithsiri chaired a meeting held to review the progress of the ‘Virusara’ Privilege Card at the ministry premises 30th March 2016.

State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane handed over 'Virusara' Privilege Cards to War Hero beneficiaries under the Phase - II of the welfare project during a ceremony held at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) in Ambepussa on Wednesday (23rd March 2016).

The State Secretary of Defence Mr. APG Kithsiri chaired a meeting held to review the progress of the 'Virusara' privilege card project at the Ministry premises on 09th March 2016.

State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane graced a 'Virusara' Privilege Card under Phase - II presenting ceremony held at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Regimental Headquarters in Boyagane, Kurunagala on 01st March 2016.

The launching ceremony of ‘ Virusara’ Privilege Card and granting 100 scholarships worth Rs 50,000, aiming the benefit of the family members in Northern and Eastern provinces who were hard hit by war and the children of war heroes, came about on 25th January 2016 under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena at the Temple Trees.
