State Minister hands over 'Virusara' Privilege Cards to beneficiaries of the Western province

State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardane distributed Virusara privilege cards among the Virusara beneficiaries of the western province in a ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry in Panagoda on 08th April 2016.

The Prime concern of the distribution of Virusara Privilege Card , implemented under the them of "Priority to White Doves" is to offer benefits for nearly 300,000 family members and Service Personnel belonging to Tri – Forces , Police and Civil Security Force who sacrificed their lives , were Missing in Action and disabled during missions carried out for the preservation of sustainable peace in motherland.

During the ceremony a total of 1724 beneficiaries including 1362 beneficiaries from Army, 283 from Navy, 45 from Air Force, 24 from Police and 10 from Civil Security Department received Virusara cards.

Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi and State Secretary to Ministry of Defence Mr. APG Kithsiri were present at the occasion.
