The committee meeting of ‘Virusara’ privilege card project was held to review the progress under the auspicious of State Defence Ministry Secretary Eng Karunasena Hettiarachchi, senior officials of the ministry,Ranaviru Seva Authority, Tri forces police and Civil Defence Force at State Defence Ministry auditorium on October 14, 2016
During the meeting, the progress of the project was reviewed while new suggestions and views were also taken for discussion. The quantity of cards issued for beneficiaries was also reviewed. In addition, a number of issues including the present progress of the 'Virusara' privilege card, future distribution of cards to beneficiaries and increasing benefits were taken up discussion during the meeting.
Moreover, the increasing demand for the cards and seeking possibilities of reinstating retired military personnel were also on the discussion.
Though the aimed target of issuing 'Virusara' privilege card is 50,000 yet around 24, 510 cards have been issued as per follows.

Expanding further the project the next phase of Virusara benefits cards will be held at Commando Regiment Ganemulla on December 9.
